It is with a heavy heart that we have sent our grandmother to a private nursing home here in Singapore. I wanted to take care of my grandmother, I really do. However, I cannot just leave my work because we have to survive. I have to make money. Thankfully, we found a good elderly day care for her where she can actually have a good time. However, I want to make sure to always visit her.
As much as we love our grandmother, it is getting harder and harder for us to take care of her because all of us handle very demanding work. We wanted to focus and take care of our grandmother of course, but we still had to work hard to provide for her medicine and to all our needs. When doctors have told us that her being senile is getting worse, it is with a heavy heart that we considered having under the care of nursing home operators. With us, she is getting only the right care but with her condition, she needed 24/7 care. On top of that, I think she is getting lonelier with us.

From what I can see, my grandmother will be in good hands because of their good quality care. They also have good daycare services. Patients who are recently discharged from a hospital can receive good rehabilitation that can further improve their physical and functional status. There is also a good maintenance program that helps in maintaining the patients’ wellbeing.
Community garden
What made me feel refreshed about this private nursing home is their community garden. They say that for one to heal, it would be best for them to stay as close to nature as possible. With a good charming community garden such as theirs, I am sure that my grandmother will feel refreshed.
