1. Don’t sleep without brushing your teeth
Even though this is obvious, not everyone brushes their teeth before they sleep. Some people might brush their teeth twice a day, but not before they sleep right away. As you sleep, bacteria builds up much stronger and more effectively compared to when you’re awake, which is why we produce “morning breath”.
Before sleeping, properly brush your teeth before going to bed. Not properly brushing can give you a bad case of morning breath once you wake!
2. Don’t forget the tongue

Sometimes, flossing is looked upon as a secondary action compared to brushing. But this shouldn’t be the case, because flossing not only removes tiny particles of food in-between teeth, but it also stimulates the gums to reduce plaque build-up.
4. Water is not only good for the body
Drinking water is essential, but it’s also important for keeping your mouth healthy. Drinking water before and after meals is the way to go, as this stimulates the stomach to prepare for digestion. It also helps get rid of tiny food particles after meals.
5. Eat/Drink sugar in moderation
There’s nothing wrong with eating or drinking sugary foods/beverages every now and then. But like all in things in life, it should be done in moderation. Sugar converts into acid in the mouth, which can damage tooth enamel. This leads to the build-up of cavities, so be mindful of the sugar you eat/drink.
6. Get checked-up regularly
The most obvious tip every dentist will tell you is to get checked-up more often than not. This is to make sure your oral hygiene is managed properly. Even if you’re not experiencing any dental problems, it’s wise to get a check-up every once in a while.
